In July 2007 and 2008, several amendments to Chs. 718 (condominiums), 719 (cooperatives), 720 (homeowners' associations), and 721 (vacation and timeshare plans) of the Florida Statutes went into effect. (1) These changes affect future developments, current developments, and the management of associations in a myriad of ways. This article outlines only the changes to F.S. Ch. 720. (2) Most of the amendments were made in 2007, but there were some additional modifications in 2008. The information in this article analyzes the amendments affecting residential neighborhoods governed by Ch. 720 and focuses on the most important changes to the chapter during these past two years.
